Actions Committee

  • The Actions Committee shall have the authority to approve without a meeting and by unanimous consent

  1. all nonmonetary co-sponsorship requests,

  2. monetary co-sponsorship requests of less than $400 if approval is required before the next board meeting, and

  3.  requests for the Association to support or oppose issues, excluding judicial nominations.  The Actions Committee shall provide a succinct summary of the request and its proposed action to the Board as soon thereafter as possible. 

  • Before the Actions Committee takes any action on any of the enumerated requests, the Board shall have forty-eight (48) hours after notice to comment on the request. 

  • The Actions Committee shall consider any comments by the Board prior to issuing its decision. 

  • The Board may at its discretion overturn any decision by the Actions Committee or remove the Actions Committee by majority vote at a regular or special meeting of the Board.

  • Nominations Committee

    • The Nominating Committee shall be appointed by the Board and shall meet upon call of the President of the Association prior to August 1st and shall elect its own chairperson and secretary. The Nominating Committee shall nominate one or more members of the Association for each of the offices of President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary and for each position of Director to be filled at the annual election, and the list of its nominees shall be mailed to all members of the Association entitled to vote not later than September 1st. The Nominating Committee shall have the authority to establish nominating and election rules or procedures, provided they do not contravene any provisions of the Bylaws.

  • Assist Treasurer in preparing the budget.

  • Assist Treasurer in filing of documents.

  • Monetize fundraising opportunities for

  • operational expenses and charitable activities.

Membership Committee
  • Assist the Secretary and Treasurer in Maintaining the Membership List.

  • Recruit Members in coordination with Professional Development Committee and Social Committee.

  • Plan Annual Membership Meeting in coordination with Executive Officers.

  • Membership Drive.

Professional Development Committe
  • Liaison to other California Bar Associations and National Bar Associations

Social Committee
  • Social Events
